Andrew Garfield isn't regarded by the majority of webheads as the best live-action version of Spider-Man and more often than not, his name gets sidelined whenever fans bring up the whole Tobey Maguire vs Tom Holland argument. It's a damn shame in my book because his unorthodox take on Peter Parker and Spider-Man was something I've always been a fan of. Obviously, some fans don't see him as a strong contender because his films have been deemed divisive by critics, especially The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

But if you'll ask Andrew himself, he doesn't seem to have any regrets playing the iconic web-slinger and in fact, he's pretty grateful for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity he was given a decade ago. However, the British actor did admit that there were brewing tensions between him and Sony executives over the creative direction of his Spidey films and that is something he briefly tapped into in a new interview.

Andrew told Variety that he had his fair share of creative differences with ex-Sony Chairperson Amy Pascal but at the end of the day, they had mutual respect for each other. Garfield also mentioned his co-stars Sally Field and former flame Emma Stone. He said: "It was only beautiful. I got to meet Emma [Stone] and work with her and Sally Field. I had karma with Amy Pascal, who was a mother figure, and we would fight, but ultimately, we loved each other on a deep level. We tried to meet as much in the middle as we could in terms of why I wanted to do this role, and what her needs were as the head of the studio."

Thankfully, it looks like Garfield will finally get his shot at redemption seven years after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 came out, and while he has constantly denied his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home for reasons we already know, the pieces of evidence that have been leaking online as of late clearly don't lie. I'm ready to be blown away come December.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released in cinemas on December 17, 2021.
