Andor’s Diego Luna Teases His Star Wars Hero Season 2 Transformation

In every TV show, there’s nothing that the fans love more than knowing the backstory of their favorite characters and expanding their story on a larger scale to get to know more of what they can offer. Diego Luna, who portrays the fan favorite Cassian Andor, has already impressed the fans with his ability to fight the system designed to oppress and improve a broken society.

In the upcoming second season, Luna’s Andor is expected to do more of what he already does best. Speaking with Collider, he reflected on his journey in season 1 and teased what to expect from the next chapter of the Disney+ show. The star teased that his Star Wars hero will undergo huge transformations and that his being politically aware is just the tip of the iceberg of his persona.

He narrated, “[I] think what happens also after prison and in the next episodes is that he really understands what he's fighting against. He understands the need [for] a revolution because he understands what oppression basically means and how little freedom he has, and how unfair the world he lives in is. But there's still so much for him to learn in terms of working as a team,”

“The responsibility he takes on at the beginning of Rogue One is huge. Imagine what has to happen for someone to say he's the right person to do it. Cassian Andor is going to be the person we're going to trust with this. There's a lot for him to discover and a big transformation to come. He's really far from that.” Luna continued.

Andor became a pillar character in the Star Wars universe due to his ability to become a ray of hope and a source of strength in order to launch a rebellion for the greater good. In his solo series, the fans have been introduced to the hero’s origins, parental figures, deeper motivations, and inner conflicts.

Despite being regarded as one of the best Star Wars shows of all time, Andor has yet to achieve widespread recognition. It is currently building its intended audience, and fans can only hope that the upcoming second season will attract a larger audience as the story progresses.
