The Star Wars franchise nearly dropped its first F-bomb in what would have been a monumental moment for the science fiction epic but unfortunately, the House of Mouse wasn't having any of it. It turns out that Andor Season 1's monologue featuring Maarva Andor (Fiona Shaw) sounded way different when they were filming it and new details about the pivotal scene are coming to light days following the finale's premiere.
According to Denise Gough, who plays Dedra Meero in the hit Disney+ series, the funeral monologue originally uttered the phrase "F*ck the Empire" before Disney stepped in and watered it down to "Fight the Empire". Speaking with Empire Magazine (which is honestly quite fitting), Gough explained what went through filming the finale sequence and what could have been.
She shared: "Fiona's voice was over all of us. Except, at the end, she didn't say, 'Fight the Empire!' She said, 'Fuck the Empire!' Which we were all really excited about. But we weren't allowed to keep it, obviously."

Considering Disney has allowed Marvel Studios' Deadpool 3 to retain its R-rated nature, it's actually quite baffling how the dialogue was ultimately censored. It's still understandable though because the company has always been about its family-friendly product.
Dropping the franchise's first F-bomb would have been the icing on the cake on what has been a phenomenal series. I guess Lucasfilm isn't ready to head to an edgier route in terms of content but maybe Season 2 will finally make it happen. Who knows?
All episodes of Andor's first season are available to stream on Disney+.
