Production for the Andor series' second season has been running pretty smoothly for the last couple of months and it looked like the Star Wars spinoff show was on track to finish filming as scheduled.

However, the combined forces of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) proved a little too much for studios as several productions have already been shut down for the time being.

Deadline reports that while there's a strong chance Andor Season 2 will be forced to temporarily halt its ongoing production at Pinewood Studios in the UK, the series remains unfazed by the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA walkouts.

But before you raise your eyebrows, the outlet clarifies that the series is currently working around the absence of its cast members who are affiliated with SAG-AFTRA.

Apparently, the series is allowed to push through with its production because its British cast members are working under a different agreement and are represented by the British acting union Equity instead of SAG.

As it stands, it remains unclear whether or not Andor Season 2 will finish the remainder of its shoot with the actors currently on strike. But given the lack of promising development surrounding the WGA and SAG-AFTRA's concerns, it seems likely that the show could face major setbacks in the coming months.

Of course, one could hope that major production studios like Disney will finally heed the collective call of its workers and give them the proper compensation they deserve. But if worse comes to worst, then I guess there's really nothing fans can do about it.

The second season of Andor is currently slated for release on Disney+ sometime in 2024.
