HBO Max is yet to renew And Just Like That, but fans and even the cast members alike are already clamoring for And Just Like That Season 2. As the first season has ended, will fans get the answer about the mystery surrounding the meeting of Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Che (Sara Ramirez)?
Miranda went to Cleveland to profess her love to Che after asking Steve (David Eigenberg) for divorce in Episode 8. However, when Episode 9 began, the two lovebirds were already back in New York. So would fans get to see what happened in Cleveland in And Just Like That Season 2?
The Mysterious Cleveland Scene in And Just Like That Season 2
Writer Julie Rottenberg told TVLine there was a plan to show the Miranda-Che meeting, only that it didn’t happen.
“That episode was going to end in Cleveland, but by the time we got to it, I don’t think we ever even wrote that scene,” she explained.
Sadly, this might not be part of And Just Like That Season 2, as that particular scene already slipped away. The culprit? The restrictions of TV production, Rottenberg’s co-writer Elisa Zuritsky revealed.

“For any number of reasons, the scripts were always longer than they were supposed to be,” she said. “We never had enough time to shoot everything. So there were a lot of different elements we were juggling.”
Creatively, Rottenberg added they had decided not to include it as fans already knew what exactly they thought it would be. “We didn’t want to do that,” she continued.
“We wanted to jump forward into their relationship. So I think we can all kind of decide what happened in Cleveland,” Rottenberg concluded.
The Possible And Just Like That Season 2 Order
And Just Like That Season 1 officially ended on Feb. 3. So without a renewal yet, it may take time before fans can see And Just Like That Season 2.
However, Sarah Jessica Parker herself knew they had to take advantage of the series’ hype and make the new season as soon as possible.
“There’s a calendar and you don’t want to let too much time pass,” she told Variety. “There feels like there’s momentum.”
Sarita Choudhury, who plays the role of Seema, agreed and told Entertainment Tonight she hoped there would be a new season.
“I feel like the second [season] would be able to just jump into who they really are as opposed to getting the audience used to seeing what they’re seeing,” she revealed. “So I would love a second season, but I really don’t know.”
In addition, Casey Bloys, HBO and HBO Max's chief content officer, told Vulture he would leave it up to “these guys” to what they wanted to do to the series. However, he couldn’t deny he was “very happy with what they’ve done.”
“It really does feel like you’re picking up with old friends and haven’t missed a beat,” he said.
