Anakin Skywalker’s Darth Vader Transformation Featured In A Heartbreaking And Powerful New Light


It might have been years since the release of Matthew Stover's novelization of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, but it looks like Star Wars fans have just recently made a powerful Darth Vader discovery thanks to a passage in the novel.

A Star Wars fan just recently shared a short entry taken from Revenge of the Sith's novelization on Reddit, and in it, fans get to learn more about Anakin Skywalker's physical transformation into Darth Vader.

Offering a new slant of light on the character's metamorphosis, the Revenge of the Sith passage has Anakin describing the different sensations he feels while in his newly-suited metal body. Not only do fans feel the existential angst of the newly born Darth Vader while reading the entry, but they also feel the immense hatred and guilt the character has for himself after learning of Padme's death. The internal monologue is so full of self-hatred and regret, it isn't difficult to feel Anakin's heartache.

Shedding so much light on Anakin's transformation into Darth Vader, fans who've stumbled on this Reddit post couldn't help but comment on how Return of the Jedi's novelization helped them enjoy the film to the fullest.

Responding to the thread on Reddit, one fan even claimed that while he was always disappointed in Anakin's fall in the film because of its rushed quality, the novelization did so many wonders for him, improving his understanding of Darth Vader and improving his take on the movie. Guess it's time for us to pick up those different novelizations of the prequel trilogy.
