2024 welcomes moviegoers with the newest horror film from the producers of M3GAN and The Nun, the upcoming supernatural thriller Night Swim. Starring alongside The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Wyatt Russell is his teenage daughter Izzy, played by Amélie Hoeferle. So, who is this up-and-coming actress and why does she look familiar?

Amélie Hoeferle Won't Be Swimming Much After This Horror Flick

Amélie Hoeferle's role in Night Swim takes a deeper dive into their newest home. Playing the role of the teenage daughter Izzy, she's a high school student who's been looking forward to experiencing her first romance.

As the trailer shows, Izzy invites her crush over for a swimming pool party and even lets him play Marco Polo with her on their little rendezvous. Little did they know that this swimming pool holds dark secrets they may not want to uncover themselves.

The official synopsis for Night Swim reads:

No running. No diving. No lifeguard on duty. No swimming after dark.
Night Swim stars Wyatt Russell (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) as Ray Waller, a former major league baseball player forced into early retirement by a degenerative illness, who moves into a new home with his concerned wife Eve (Oscar® nominee Kerry Condon, The Banshees of Inisherin), the teenage daughter Izzy (Amélie Hoeferle, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) and young son Elliot (Gavin Warren, Fear the Walking Dead).

But hold on, why does Amélie Hoeferle of Night Swim look familiar? Where have we seen her before?

You'd be surprised that Amélie Hoeferle's theatrical debut started in one of Hollywood's most successful franchises, The Hunger Games, specifically, in the prequel story of Lucy Gray Baird in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes which came out last year.

Hoeferle played the role of the power-hungry, competitive Vipsania Sickle, who was one of the top 24 students at the Academy.

She was assigned to District 7's male tribute, Treech (Hiroki Berrecloth), whom she was somewhat satisfied that her tribute could think up a strategy for himself.

While Vipsania Sickle was rarely seen on the big screens, her fierce background uttered a scared reaction from Coriolanus Snow. This was the time when Snow wanted to borrow a guitar from his fellows.

Considering Sickle's family history, Snow decided to secure a guitar elsewhere, despite Vipsania telling him he could borrow hers. The act of caution around her pretty much tells you all you need to know about how ruthless she can be.
