American Gods Being Investigated by SAG After Orlando Jones Firing

It looks like the Orlando Jones drama with American Gods isn't over just yet. A new report reveals that Fremantle, the production company behind the series, is now under investigation after Jones was fired from the show.

The report comes from Deadline, which reveals that SAG-AFTRA has decided to take action after Jones' rant about being fired from American Gods. This is connected to previous accusations by actors like Gabrielle Union, who was previously removed from America's Got Talent.

"After initial meetings with Gabrielle Union and her representatives about her experiences on America's Got Talent, and after learning more about Orlando Jones's experience on American Gods, SAG-AFTRA is expanding its investigation of Fremantle Media [sic]." a spokeswoman from the guild said in a statement.

The guild representative also confirmed that Jones, Union, and others agreed to make the matter public.

"Our enforcement actions are handled confidentially to protect the members involved, and we typically do not publicize these matters unless the affected members request that we do so," the spokeswoman said.

Jones had previously revealed that he was fired from American Gods in September when he and new showrunner Charles Eglee couldn't agree on how to pursue his character Mr. Nancy's story. However, Fremantle released a statement claiming Mr. Nancy's story was not significant in the third season so Jones was let go.

For now, American Gods Season 3 has not yet been given an official release date. Nevertheless, the series is expected to return on Starz by 2020.
