Fremantle Reacts to Orlando Jones Blasting American Gods Season 3 Showrunner

In case you missed it, Orlando Jones has been fired from American Gods Season 3 which he confirmed in a scathing video blasting the new showrunner. Now Fremantle, the company that produces the series, has issued a statement addressing Jones' exit.

Fremantle issued the statement just a few hours after Jones posted his video on his official Twitter account (via Vanity Fair). It reads as follows:

"The storylines of American Gods have continually shifted and evolved to reflect the complex mythology of the source material. Mr. Jones' option was not picked up because Mr. Nancy, among other characters, is not featured in the portion of the book we are focusing on within Season three. Several new characters, many of which have already been announced, will be introduced into Shadow Moon's world that will further contribute to the show's legacy as one of the most diverse series on television," the statement reads.

Interestingly, the statement doesn't mention anything about Eglee, who happened to be the true focus of Jones' ire. However, it didn't take long before Jones began blasting Fremantle, calling on other celebrities who have similar claims about the company.

"Correction: I was fired Sept 10, 2019 like @itsgabrielleu @OfficialMelB @NickCannon @heidiklum all have said @FremantleUS is a nightmare. They treated you like a 2nd class citizen for doing your job to well. Stay tuned. More to come," Jones wrote before adding the hashtag #AngryGetsShitDone.

It sounds like the entire drama will not be over soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

American Gods Season 3 has not yet been given a release date but is set to return on Starz by 2020.
