AMC's Interview With The Vampire TV Series to Begin Production in December

It looks like we will be meeting the new Lestat and Louis very soon. The live-action series adaptation of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire is reportedly set to begin production before the end of the year.

Alan Taylor has been confirmed to direct the pilot episode of the upcoming show that will air on AMC. In an interview with Collider, Taylor confirmed that he will be heading for New Orleans in December to begin working on the first two episodes. The filmmaker also pointed out that he simply could not turn down the project.

"I have a personal relationship with the book... I read Interview With the Vampire, and I just loved it. It gave me this feeling, which I think is the main thing I took away from the book, which is, every other story you've heard about vampires is kind of bullshit, and here's the truth. This is the reality. This is what it would really be like," Taylor said.

We're loving the idea that Taylor is involved in Interview with the Vampire. After all, he is an excellent director who has worked on several amazing TV shows including Game of Thrones. Taylor actually worked on the seventh season episode Beyond The Wall which is best known for the shocking death and transformation of the dragon Viserion.

Although Taylor has worked on Game of Thrones, Interview with the Vampire might be the first time he will get to work extensively with Jacob Anderson, who played Grey Worm on the show. Anderson has been cast as Louis in the AMC series and is set to be one of the three leads.

Interview with the Vampire will also star Sam Reid as Lestat. The series is set to be a sequel to Anne Rice's novel and will focus on another interview between Louis and Daniel Malloy several years after the first one.
