Amber Heard has recently dismissed all the rumors and confirmed that she'll be reprising her role as Mera in Aquaman2 and in the midst of her heated legal battle with former husband Johnny Depp, the DC actress doesn't seem like she's all that bothered with the controversy surrounding her personal life. Warner Bros.' decision to keep her around has been deemed questionable by a lot of fans who have been calling for her firing from the upcoming project.

Now, a new report suggests that Amber's involvement in the second Aquaman film could still be in peril after all. According to a source close to We Got This Covered, the folks over at Warner Brothers have a little contingency plan should Amber lose her next trial with Depp. The said source also shared details about the sequel's script which could call for Mera getting injured (or even killed off) at the hands of Black Manta.

"The current draft of the script for Aquaman 2 includes a scene where Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's returning Black Manta gets into an altercation with Heard's Mera and she ends up seriously injured. Should the 34-year-old end up losing the defamation case, then that presents an easy out for the studio to sideline her for the rest of the movie or even kill her off and remove her from the Aquaman series entirely," the report writes. Of course, nothing has been confirmed yet so take everything with a grain of salt.

With all the confusion surrounding Heard and Depp's highly publicized trial, one thing is for sure, WB, for some reason is really adamant about keeping Amber in the DC Extended Universe but on the other hand, it'll be interesting to see how long they'll be able to take control of the messy situation considering the growing hatred towards the actress and the fan petitions that have been making the rounds all over social media.
