It looks like petitions to have Amber Heard removed from DC's Aquaman sequel and for Johnny Depp to return as Captain Jack Sparrow are skyrocketing now that an alleged audio conversation between the divorced celebrities have started making the rounds online.
Earlier this month, an audio recording of Amber Heard admitting that she had hit Johnny Depp after a fight was leaked online, inciting rage from fans online. Heard and Depp have been locked in a defamation lawsuit that had affected Depp negatively. While most fans sided with Heard during the start of the fight with the actress claiming that she had been hit by Depp during the relationship, word came out that it happened the other way around. Depp had claimed that he was the one being domestically abused, and two weeks ago audio recording of Heard admitting to her violent outburst leaked on the internet.
Now, according to a report by Cinema Blend, the numbers for petitions titled "Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2" and "We want Johnny Depp back as Captain Jack Sparrow," are rocketing in the wake of the audio leak.
The petition asking for Warner Brothers to fire Amber Heard from Aquaman 2 had only 30,000 signatures back in November last year. Now, the petition has reached over 300,000 signatures. Meanwhile, the petition saying that fans "want Johnny Depp back as Captain Jack Sparrow" has more than 133,000 signatures from fans and supporters. It's definitely a major leap from the 5,000 signatures it had back in June 2019.
