Alternate Ending of IT Teases The Return of Pennywise

At the end of Andy Muschietti's big screen adaptation of Stephen King's IT, we learned that they divided the story of Stephen King's iconic 1000-page novel into two films. Although the theatrical ending of the first film showed some resolution for the Losers' Club, the alternate ending teased that Pennywise will someday return, as you can see in the clip below:

This alternate ending hints at how the Losers' Club got fractured shortly after they faced Pennywise while the shot of the drain with the rainfall at the end hints at the return of the evil clown.

The original theatrical ending is much better than this lame version, and I'm glad that it was cut. In King's novel, the narrative jumps between two different timelines, showing the Losers' Club as young kids and when they reunite 27 years later to once again face Pennywise.

IT will be available on Blu-ray on January 9, and it includes the alternate ending seen above and deleted scenes.
