Idris Elba And Jessica Chastain Interested In Playing Older Loser’s Club In IT 2

Andy Muschietti's film adaptation of Stephen King's 1986 novel IT was a huge success, and a lot of fans are looking forward to the film's sequel IT 2.

Though the sequel film hasn't started casting any of its actors just yet, it seems like Molly's Game co-stars Idris Elba and Jessica Chastain are both interested in playing the adult versions of a couple of the characters in Muschietti's first IT.

Speaking in an interview with Screen Rant, Chastain talked about how fans have been constantly bringing up her name when placing bets on who'd play IT's Beverly Marsh, the redhead member of the Loser's Club played by Sophia Lillis in Muschietti's movie.

"Well, I love [director] Andy and [producer] Barbara [Muschietti]," Chastain said. "I worked with them on Andy's directorial debut, you know, his film, Mama. His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so."

Listen, of course, I want to work… they're my friends. They're like my family," the actress then added. "Anything that they're doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen."

Elba hasn't seen IT just yet, and it seems like the actor had no idea that fans were hoping that he'd play Mike, the child played by Chosen Jacobs in the film.

"I haven't seen It. I haven't seen it! Is that bad?" Elba admitted. "I haven't seen it! I've been working! I've been directing."

However, after hearing that Chastain had some connection to the filmmakers, the actor jokingly went on a spree, saying that he wanted in and that he "LOVE(s) THAT MOVIE."

Of course, Elba's a great actor, and we bet he'd really make a good older version of Mike in IT 2.

IT 2 is set for release on September 6, 2019.
