Alice Risks Her Life for the Mad Hatter in New Alice Through the Looking Glass Footage

The Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) is Alice’s (Mia Wasikowska) “truest friend,” and so in a new Alice Through the Looking Glass clip released exclusively via Entertainment Weekly, we see Alice taking on Time (Sacha Baron Cohen) and even risking her life to save the Hatter.

In Alice Through the Looking Glass, which takes place six years following Alice’s adventures in Alice in Wonderland, a lot has taken place and changed in with the Hatter, who is now dying of a broken heart. The only way to save him is if someone goes back deep in time, according to the White Queen (Anne Hathaway).

Alice has volunteered and she would have to find and use the Chronosphere, which “powers the grand clock of all time,” as said by the White Rabbit (Michael Sheen). In addition, the White Queen said that Alice is the only one who can go back in time since she’s the only oddball in their group who could do so.

However, it isn’t as easy as it seems and finding the device would risk Alice’s life. Why? Well, you can find out in the clip below:

Alice has certainly grown in confidence since we saw her in Alice in Wonderland. She’s now willing to take on more dangerous challenges for her friends. We can see the villains she’ll be facing in these photos of Time’s minions. With the many films Disney has lined up for the year, I’m not entirely sure how Alice Through the Looking Glass will fare, but hopefully there’s something more to this film that what we’ve seen in the prequel.
