Netflix's Alice in Borderland Season 2 Officially Finished Filming

Netflix subscribers, get ready for more deadly games! Alice in Borderland Season 2 is coming to the streaming service before Squid Game Season 2, and the good news is that the highly-anticipated new season has officially finished filming in Japan!

Directed by Shinsuke Sato and written by Yasuko Kuramitsu, Alice in Borderland is based on the manga series by Haro Aso, and it first premiered on Netflix on December 10, 2020. Netflix didn't take too long to renew one of its popular original Japanese series, and the massive success of Squid Game last year had helped Alice in Borderland grow its audience.

The production update comes via the official Netflix Geeked Twitter account, which shared a video of the cast talking about the experience of being part of the fan-favorite show.

It looks like Season 2 of Alice in Borderland will take the games to the next level, and if you've read the manga series, you'd know that things are about to get more dangerous for the remaining players of Borderland.

For those unfamiliar, the synopsis of Alice in Borderland Season 1 reads:

"Arisu—a listless, jobless and video-game-obsessed young man—suddenly finds himself in a strange, emptied-out version of Tokyo in which he and his friends must compete in dangerous games in order to survive. In this strange world, Arisu meets Usagi, a young woman who's navigating the games alone. Together, they set out to unravel one mystery after another as they risk their lives and confront what it means to live."

Alice in Borderland Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix this December. You can read more details about the show in our dedicated article.
