Alexandre Desplat Will Start Working on the 'Rogue One' Score in "A Few Weeks"

Academy-award composer Alexandre Desplat confirmed this week that he will start working on the score for Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in "a few weeks". The French-German composer talked to Hey U Guys at the red carpet premiere for Florence Foster Jenkins where he confirmed that he had not yet started work on the movie, though he did say that the trailer is "very exciting" and praised director Gareth Edwards. Watch him talk about it:

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be the first live-action Star Wars movie to feature music composed by someone other than John Williams. Desplat is known for his Academy Award-winning soundtrack for Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel, and his work on The King's Speech, Zero Dark Thirty, Gareth Edwards' Godzilla, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 and Part 2.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to release in theaters on Dec. 16, 2016.
