The DC Universe is about to usher in a new era with the franchise's impending reboot but key details regarding James Gunn and Peter Safran's grand scheme have yet to unfold.

If the latest rumors are to be believed, only a handful of actors in the current DC Extended Universe will hold on to their respective roles when the DC Studios duo hits the reset button on the franchise next year.

Intriguingly enough, Gal Gadot's status in the "new" DCU remains unclear although Gunn reassured fans that Wonder Woman will be an integral part of the franchise's first chapter. Surprisingly enough, some folks are fine with the idea of Gadot being recast in favor of a new actor.

In case some of you weren't aware, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief star Alexandra Daddario has been a favorite amongst DCU diehards to play Wonder Woman in live-action for years.

In fact, even before WB Discovery announced their plans to revamp the DC film and television franchise, a lot of fans have consistently pointed out how The White Lotus actress would be a suitable replacement for Gadot, whose portrayal of Diana Prince divided the fandom since her debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Turns out, the campaign to see the actress become the next Wonder Woman continues. On Instagram, artist @horrific.heroics showed off his astonishing artwork depicting Daddario as the Amazonian warrior, even giving her a costume that looks to be a mash-up of Wonder Woman's live-action and comic book looks.

What do you think? Should DC Studios consider replacing Gal Gadot? Check out the amazing piece here:

Gadot recently made a cameo appearance in Shazam! Fury of the Gods but of course, that doesn't exactly guarantee that she'll get to reprise the role in the rebooted DCU. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing her join the new DCU but of course, the ball isn't in our court.

Meanwhile, The Flash is hitting cinemas on June 16.
