Alden Ehrenreich on How Han Solo Influenced His John the Savage in Brave New World

Alden Ehrenreich may not be returning as smuggler Han Solo anytime soon, but he is set to be the protagonist of a new sci-fi show called Brave New World on Peacock. What's interesting is, Ehrenreich's John the Savage may not be so different from Han.

Talking to Variety about the variation of his character from the books, Ehrenreich explains:

"… For me that was really exciting, not entirely unlike Solo where you're the character in the midst of this enormous and incredibly dominant and overbearing system and you have a feeling or a belief that you're fighting to get across. I've always responded to characters like that."

It's very interesting that Ehrenreich should find himself playing another rebel character. I personally loved his take on Han Solo, and while Lucasfilm currently has no plans to bring him back for the character, I guess John the Savage will be the closest thing we have to a reprisal for now. Even when you watch the trailer for the show, you can feel Ehrenreich exuding some Han Solo vibes.

Who knows, if Brave New World manages to be a hit, maybe Lucasfilm will reconsider their stance on a Solo sequel. With more people checking out the movie after its release on Disney+, maybe there'll be more buzz for a follow-up moving forward. I mean, if the Snyder Cut guys can pull it off, I have all the faith for #MakeSolo2Happen.

For now, catch Ehrenreich in Brave New World now streaming on Peacock.
