Fans might have been skeptical at first when Lucasfilm announced that it had decided to cast Hail Caesar! actor Alden Ehrenreich as the studio's young Han Solo, but the young actor proved everyone wrong by making the role his own in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Now, with Solo out on home release, Ehrenreich has decided to share his first reaction when he learned that he was going to become the young version of Star Wars' iconic smuggler. Sitting down to speak in an interview together with the film's cast and crew, the actor reveals that the news of his casting as Solo overwhelmed him so much – he had to head out and pace himself by going on an amusement park ride.

Apparently, Ehrenreich was ecstatic when he got the call from Lucasfilm, however, while he was allowed to tell his family, he couldn't tell any of his friends about his little secret till the studio made the announcement themselves. Taking all that energy and excitement with him, the actor decided to let it all out by going on a roller coaster ride by himself.
"I got the call, I was just on the street, and I called my family, I told them, but, all my friends, I couldn't tell anyone really, it wasn't even going to be announced for three months," the actor shared. "And so I didn't know what to do, but I felt I should do something. So I went to the beach by myself and walked around and there was the pier there so I went to the pier and I said, 'I guess I'll ride a ride,' so I just rode a rollercoaster by myself."
It's an adorable story really. Taking the lead role in a Star Wars spinoff movie is nothing but a dream for many – a dream that Ehrenreich has lived.
What do you think of Ehrenreich's Han Solo? Did you like him in Solo: A Star Wars Story?
