Ever since the rumors of him playing Ezra Bridger in Ahsoka began surfacing online, Aladdin star Mena Massoud has been keeping a lot of fans intrigued on social media with his cryptic posts that seem to tease his involvement on the show. For the uninitiated, Mena is said to be the frontrunner to play Ezra in the upcoming Star Wars project headlined by Rosario Dawson but we've yet to get actual confirmation from Lucasfilm regarding his alleged casting.
Now, Mena is once again fueling speculation about his rumored casting in the upcoming Star Wars spinoff project. Taking to his recent Instagram stories, the rising actor shared an awesome fan art of himself depicted as the beloved Star Wars Rebels protagonist and I gotta say, he definitely looks the part. Intriguingly, the Disney star extended his gratitude to the fans for "dreaming" alongside him, and judging by the tone of his post, it seems like a confirmation that he is in fact playing Ezra in the MandoVerse. As it stands, we've yet to get ourselves some much-needed update regarding the standalone Ahsoka series but with Star Wars Celebration just around the corner, it would be safe to assume that everything we need to know about the project will finally be revealed, including the actors who will play Ezra and Thrawn. The MandoVerse has been on such a roll since its inception and I expect nothing but great things from Ahsoka.
Ahsoka is expected to begin filming this year.
