Ahsoka: Ivanna Sakhno's Mysterious Character Reportedly Revealed

One of the upcoming Star Wars shows that are in the works is Ahsoka which will focus on the titular character's next adventure following the events of her appearance in the second season of The Mandalorian. While the exact plot details are still under wraps, it is expected to feature Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker and Natasha Liu Bordizzo playing the role of Sabine Wren in live-action.

Some time ago, we learned that Pacific Rim: Uprising star Ivanna Sakhno has been cast to join Ahsoka. While the exact details of her role are still under wraps during that time, it is said to be a newly created character. Now, it looks like we finally have the information regarding the role that she is going to play.

The Illuminerdi has reported that Sakhno will be playing a character named "Astrid" in the series. According to their sources, the character is "described as striking and ferocious," "a formidable mercenary who must now decide between two paths," and "can either follow the path of her unit or take hold of her own aspiration in service of her own glory."

The character's description in the report is vague and it doesn't give us a clue about how she will play into the story. It's also unknown if she is part of the good side or the dark side. It is interesting that her character is just described as a "mercenary" without any specifications if she is also a bounty hunter or working on her own independently.

We do have to take note that the news didn't come from the major trades nor it was announced by Lucasfilm so we have to take this with a grain of salt. However, The Illuminerdi has a pretty good track record when it comes to exclusive news such as the recent report regarding Amandla Stenberg's casting in The Acolyte.

For now, we can only speculate about what will happen in Ahsoka since, as we all know, Star Wars projects are very much secretive and they only reveal vague details prior to release. We do know that Ahsoka is hunting down Thrawn as hinted in her The Mandalorian appearance, but nothing else beyond that. Fortunately, the series is about to start filming early next year so we might start to hear more information soon.
