Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Returns For Shorter Sixth Season

Unlike Inhumans, which is more dead than the dodo, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is seemingly unstoppable. After barely getting a fifth season, it was recently announced that the long-running ABC series would be getting a sixth one. Many had actually speculated that the fifth season would be the last, so this is definitely a surprise.

No details have been revealed about the sixth season thus far, aside from the fact that it will be shorter than previous seasons. While the fifth season had 22 episodes, the sixth will only have 13, suggesting that something big might be happening. Expect more speculation on the sixth season being the last.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has gone through numerous status quos, with the fifth season easily being the craziest yet thus far. Not only are they in space but it is also the far future. Prior to this, we've had the Ghost Rider and Inhuman-related subplots, so the show has definitely had a lot of variety.

Keep in mind that the fifth season hasn't ended yet, as the finale is expected to hit this coming Friday. Can the Agents save the world? Do they have to kill Coulson to do so? Don't miss the Season 5 finale this Friday at 9:00 PM ET on ABC.
