Adam Driver Will Not Voice Kylo Ren for Star Wars: Resistance Season 2

Disney and Lucasfilm have officially announced Star Wars Resistance Season 2, with the trailer pleasantly surprising fans by showing Kylo Ren making his debut in the animated series. After all, Resistance is the show that will detail what happened before The Force Awakens and even go a bit beyond that, though fans were sad to hear that Season 2 would be the show's last.

At least we get Kylo Ren right? He's the deepest Star Wars villain in the franchise and fans can't wait to see how conflicted/evil he will be to the show's main characters. However, fans might be peeved to know that Ren will not be voiced by Adam Driver, who plays him in the live-action films. ScreenRant has confirmed that Matthew Wood will be providing his voice for the animated character.

One reason why this kind of stinks is because the first season managed to get Gwendolyn Christie and Oscar Isaac to play Captain Phasma and Poe Dameron respectively. It seems like adding Kylo Ren is the show's way of going out with a bang so it's a shame that they can't go that extra mile. Still, he is a Hollywood actor so one can imagine that he's very busy.

It's kind of amusing how both The Rise of Skywalker and Star Wars Resistance 2 will be ending their respective mediums in the same year. Rise of Skywalker is the end of the current trilogy and Resistance Season 2 is the end of, well, Resistance. Hopefully, we'll get more animated Star Wars action in the future.

Star Wars Resistance Season 2 will be coming out on October 6.
