Deadline reports that Driver has been cast as the lead in a new sci-fi horror thriller titled 65. The movie will be directed by A Quiet Place scribes Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, and will also use an original screenplay from the duo. Here's the description of the plot (via Collider):

Driver will play an opioid addict who has become a hopeless shadow of his former self. He's involved in some kind of catastrophic accident, and the only other person to emerge from the crash is a 9-year-old girl who speaks a different language. The two of them must work together to survive.

It sounds like a pretty kooky story, and based on what we've seen in A Quiet Place, it's very likely there could be some unique angle to the film. Besides, Driver has agreed to star in the movie, which could mean that the script is great. After starring in Marriage Story, The Rise of Skywalker, The Dead Don't Die, and The Report in one year, Driver has proven that even with a bad script he can shine.

No release date has been set for 65 yet, but it's likely the film could come out sometime in 2021, depending on how the pandemic goes and when cameras can start rolling.
