Actress Lee Jung Eun Brings Home Best Performance Award From Asia Pacific Screen Awards

South Korean actress Lee Jung Eun’s performance in the film Hommage, has been recognized at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

This year has already been a fruitful one for Lee Jung Eun as she continuously scored accolades for her roles in Juvenile Justice and Hommage. Among the nominations, she got included Excellence Awards, Actress in an OTT Drama at the APAN Star Awards, Best Actress at the 2022 Buil Film Awards, and the 2022 Chunsa Film Art Awards for her role in Hommage.

The film, once again, took her to the spotlight.

Lee Jung Eun Wins Big at Asia Pacific Screen Awards

The South Korean actress brought home the Best Performance award she got at the 15th Asia Pacific Screen Awards, The Korea Times reported.

The Korean news outlet quoted the statement released by film distribution and sales company, Finecut. It said that the actress won the Best Performance category in Gold Coast, Australia, on November 11 and beat four other nominees. The award became ungendered starting this year.

On behalf of the actress, Hommage director Shin Su Won received her award. The filmmaker herself was also nominated for the Best Actor category for the same flick.

The recent award marked the second recognition she received for her role in the movie, following the Best Actress award she scored at the London East Asia Film Festival. She attended the event alongside Lee Jung Jae and Im Siwan, who won the LEAFF Honorary Award for Hunt and LEAFF Rising Star for Emergency Declaration, respectively.

Actress Lee Jung Eun Made History

Aside from it being an honor for Hommage, the award also gave Lee Jung Eun a chance to become the seventh Korean star to be recognized by the APSA.

She follows Jeon Do Yeon, Kim Hye Ja, Yun Jung Hee, Choi Min Sik, Lee Byung Hun, and Jung Jae Young.

Lee Jung Eun has been the recipient of prestigious awards since she debuted, including Excellence Award, Actress in a Serial Drama (KBS Drama Awards), AAA Scene Stealer (Asia Artist Award), Best Supporting Actress – Television (Baeksang Arts Awards), and Best Actress (Busan Film Critics Awards).
