Action Comics #1005 Brings Back Vic Sage, The Original Question

Brian Michael Bendis has been doing a solid job since he took over the Superman titles. In charge of both Superman and Action Comics, the writer has managed to balance crazy superhero brawls with some decent characterization. Bendis has also brought back some obscure characters that we haven't seen in a while, like Nuclear Man.

Now, Bendis has gained a lot of fans by bringing back an old-school DC character who doesn't come from a terrible movie; Vic Sage aka The Question. We will be seeing Vic return in Action Comics #1005, making that issue a highly anticipated one.

This incarnation of the character hasn't been seen in a long time, though the New 52 did try to make him a more mystical figure along with Pandora and The Phantom Stranger. It wasn't too popular with the fandom, though it wasn't the worst thing ever written or drawn. Fans just didn't want to see Sage reborn like this.

Thankfully, Bendis will be abandoning all of the mystic elements that were associated with the character since he looks to be bringing back the faceless detective we all know and love. Some fans probably would have preferred Renee Montoya as The Question, but they could always go back to that in the future.

With all of this classic DC love, fans will probably want to know who else is due for a comeback. Considering the heroes the company just killed in Heroes in Crisis, they can make way for more classic characters. Lord knows we'd need it after those deaths.

Action Comics #1005 is slated for a November release.
