There is little doubt that although people loved A Quiet Place, the film also left several questions unanswered. For instance, the first movie never really explained where the aliens came from and why they ended up on Earth. Luckily, a new featurette for A Quiet Place: Part II confirms that we'll finally get some answers.
The featurette was released soon after the Super Bowl spot for A Quiet Place 2 was dropped. In the video, director John Krasinski explains that the sequel will take place directly after the events in the first movie.
"A Quiet Place Part II picks up right where Quiet Place Part I left off. The idea of these kids and this family dealing with their safety net being taken from them," Krasinski says. "They are forced to go out into the world and see how other people live. So they literally leave the path of safety and go into the unknown."
Krasinski continues by stating that Evelyn is now a single mother who needs to take care of her children but she also discovers that there are people out there. This means that the story is set to expand and reveal what happened to the rest of humanity after the aliens arrived.
But how did the aliens get here in the first place? Krasinski confirmed we'll finally find out.
"We answer all those questions that the audience was asking about Day One, especially 'How did this all start?' Every step gets much more treacherous," he said.
This is great news for fans who have been wondering about the aliens' origins. We certainly can't wait to see the sequel.
A Quiet Place: Part II will premiere on March 20.
