A Birth is an upcoming movie that explores the life of the first Korean Catholic priest, Kim Dae Geon.
The latest estimate of South Korea's population reveals that 46.4 percent of the total people are religiously unaffiliated; 29.4 percent of the total are Christians, 22.9 percent are Buddhist, and the remaining are Islam, traditional religions, and others.
The country, however, will unify everyone as it tells the story of its first Catholic priest through a new film.

A Birth To Explore Priest Kim Dae Geon's Life
The Korea Times confirmed that the upcoming film would star Yoon Si Yoon in the main role.
The actor famously appeared in several hit series, including King of Baking Kim Takgu, Psychopath Diary, Train, Grand Prince, My Cute Guys, and Grand Prince, to name a few.
A Birth explores the Catholic priest's journey to Macau and China before crossing the West Sea to return to South Korea through Raphael. It also includes the historical events the priest witnessed at that time, including the First Opium War.

With that, the production team engaged in in-depth research to ensure that the movie would perfectly portray Priest Kim Dae Geon.
Director Park Heung Sik said, "I hope to depict the extraordinary feats achieved by Kim, portraying him not only as a Catholic martyr but also as an adventurer who travelled across sea and land during a turbulent era."
Aside from Yoon Si Yoon, Ahn Sung Ki also joins as one of the main cast members.
Who Is Priest Andrew Kim Dae Geon?
Kim Dae Geon was born and raised a Catholic who started his spiritual journey when he was 15. He was ordained as a priest in Shanghai at the age of 24.
A year later (in 1910), he died after he was executed for his faith during the wave of persecution of Catholics led by the neo-Confucian regime. He is buried at the Saenamteo Martyr's Shrine in Seoul's Yongsan District.
A Birth will be released on November 30.
