5 Strongest Demon Slayers and Hashira in Kimetsu no Yaiba

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba captivated the hearts of anime fans with its interesting plotline, flawless animation, and intriguing characters. Speaking of characters, we are all aware that in the world of Demon Slayer, each swordsman has his or her strength. Each has a breathing style that makes him or her powerful enough to defeat demons.

This made fans have their favorite demon slayer who they supported throughout the series. While we agree that all of us have our favorites, we then decided to list the 5 strongest demon slayers and hashira in Kimetsu no Yaiba based on our opinion.

  1. Sanemi Shinazugawa

For those who have watched season 1 of Demon Slayer, they should clearly remember who Sanemi is. The hashira with a deep hatred for demons is the Wind Pillar who impressed even Upper Moon One, Kokushibo, with his swordsman skills and mastery of his breathing technique.

He possesses an intoxicating type of blood that makes demons lose focus. He even has a Demon Slayer mark that appeared during the latter part of the manga which improved his endurance and strength.

  2. Giyu Tomioka

Giyu showed off his swordsman skills the moment he met Tanjiro. It was already emphasized throughout season 1 that the Breath of Water swordsman can effortlessly kill demons. He was also the one who developed the 11th form of the Breath of Water technique.

Just like Sanemi, he also has a Demon Slayer mark that improved his power and skills. He was offered to become a demon by Akaza as the latter considers Giyu as a worthy opponent. The Upper Moon demon also said that Giyu is the “most skilled Water Pillar” in 50 years.

  3. Tanjiro Kamado

Although Tanjiro did not have years of experience like the hashiras, he proved himself as one of the strongest demon slayers of his time. He has an enhanced sense of smell, immense strength, endurance, and great reflexes.

He was able to perfect the Sun Breathing technique and can even access the 13th form to reach the peak of his abilities. Towards the end of the series, he can do Selfless State, Crimson Blade, and Transparent World. Tanjiro was able to save Giyu from Akaza with these new techniques, proving how strong he is.

  4. Gyomei Himejima

What makes Gyomei different from the other demon slayers is that he uses a hand-az with a spiked flail. The Stone Pillar uses his Breath of Stone style techniques to defeat demons. A lot of demon slayers consider Gyomei as the most powerful like Tanjiro and Inosuke.

Even the Upper Moon One demon, Kokushibu, agrees with that. He said that the Stone Pillar’s abilities have reached their peak and made Gyomei one of the strongest warriors he ever met. Did we mention that he’s blind?

  5. Yoriichi Tsugikuni

Those who read the manga would probably know who Yoriichi Tsugikuni is. He is the creator of the most powerful and first breathing style, which was the Breath of the Sun. Another reason to consider him as the strongest demon slayer is that the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji, feared him.

When he was born, Yoriichi already possesses the Demon Slayer mark. He was a miraculous prodigy who can defeat demons at a young age. He almost killed Muzan before which is why the Demon King was afraid of him.
