BLACKPINK will be in the US area again to mark its 2022 MTV Video Music Awards appearance.

Ahead of the ceremony on August 28, the MTV VMA unveiled the list of nominees and musical performances viewers should look forward to. The upcoming show will be held in New Jersey’s Prudential Center in Newark, with the biggest awards to be given away to well-deserve artists.

After presenting the nominees on July 26, the award-giving body also shared the artists who would perform on the main show — including BLACKPINK.

BLACKPINK To Make Historic Appearance At 2022 MTV Video Music Awards

While breaking more records, the YG Entertainment girl group will make history again by becoming the first K-pop girl group to perform at the music awards show.

In a statement released by the agency (via The Korea Times), BLACKPINK will make its special performance by singing and dancing Pink Venom. Before their number, it will be released on Friday before the whole second studio album’s arrival on September 16.

It will then mark its first US Pink Venom performance after dropping it this week.

The honor became the latest feat the girl group scored at the VMA after becoming the first K-pop girl group to win a VMA in 2020. At that time, their hit song How You Like That won Song of the Summer Award.

Aside from performing this year, they also look forward to winning the two nominations it got: Best Metaverse Performance (PUBG) for the whole group and Best K-pop for Lisa’s LALISA.

BLACKPINK Joins Jack Harlow, Lizzo, Maneskin in Latest List

The announcement came after Billboard confirmed the addition of the four artists’ names to the performers’ list.

Lizzo will reportedly perform 2 Be Loved (Am I Ready), the follow-up to her About Damn Time. Meanwhile, Harlow will have his first solo performance at the VMAs this year after his debut performance with Lil Nas X last year.

Meanwhile, Maneskins’ Supermodel will also be heard by the crows.
