Harrison Ford straight-up confirmed he's on board for 1923 Season 2.
Jacob Dutton, played by the actor, is the great-great uncle of Kevin Costner's John Dutton and the brother of James (played by Tim McGraw in 1883). With James's death in 1893, Jacob inherited the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, which he managed during difficult times in 1923.

Harrison Ford Will Be Back in 1923 Season 2
In an interview with Today, Ford spoke honestly about his comeback to the series, providing a welcome change from the usual secrecy surrounding popular television shows and films. Interviewer Savannah Guthrie led Ford tentatively to the subject by stating, "There's rumors of a second season. Will you be there?"
Ford responds affirmatively without hesitation. And while Guthrie appears startled to have had such a straightforward response in the segment, it should come as no surprise that Ford is a straight shooter at this point. The seasoned actor has built his career on a straightforward, cowboy-like attitude to fame; he is, so to speak, the Jacob Dutton of Hollywood.

The Ever-Expanding Dutton-Verse
1923 has been favorably welcomed by critics and audiences alike, continuing the huge success of Yellowstone.
In 1923, the American West was going through a tense time in its history. Set three years after Prohibition and only a few years before the Great Depression, 1923 finds Ford's Jacob coping with drought and land conflicts.
In Episode 3, these land conflicts have led to an ambush led by Scottish sheepherder Banner Creighton (Jerome Flynn) and his men against the Duttons. Since then, viewers have learned that Jacob survives, having been nursed back to health by his wife Cara (Helen Mirren).

Ford and Mirren's performances have been nearly universally praised. And while neither actor's illustrious career has delved too deeply into the Western genre (Ford did a few Westerns decades ago in addition to his role in 2011's Cowboys & Aliens, while Mirren has managed to avoid the genre), both Ford and Mirren have proven to be a new pair of driven Duttons that will (at least in Ford's case) continue in 1923 Season 2.
