Suicide Squad’s Awesome Plans For Fans At Comic-Con

Warner Bros. is going all out for Suicide Squad fans who are attending the upcoming Comic-Con this July.

Last week, it was reported that DC has launched a cosplay contest for diehard fans, with 11 lucky winners getting an all-expenses-paid trip to the convention.

Now, we're getting more awesome news via The Hollywood Reporter about DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures' big plans for fans, which would presumably be the perfect venue to go all out on their promotional campaign prior to the movie's release in a few weeks.

According to the THR, some cast members will be at the convention for Warner Bros.' Hall H presentation for the film.

In addition, the entire cast will be recording a special episode for Conan O'Brien's talk show on Saturday July 23, set for broadcast that same evening.

Of course, with some cast members attending Comic-Con, fans will get the chance to talk up close with the stars of the movie at the DC Entertainment booth. They will also sign items for fans, as well as take pictures with them.

If you thought that was big enough, well it isn't, because the studios will be setting up the film's Belle Reve Penitentiary on site, so that fans can fully immerse in the onscreen prison and feel like they're one of the squad.

There will also be a virtual reality set where fans can take part in a scene in the movie.

Last but not least, due to the popularity of Harley Quinn's tattoo parlor at the SXSW, where fans got tattooed with their favorite characters' logos, the tattoo parlor will be at Comic-Con as well.

The DC Extended Universe has a lot riding on this movie, especially with the mixed response that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice received since its release. It's not really surprising that Suicide Squad's marketing team has decided to go big for Comic-Con. Let's just hope the movie is what it's cracked up to be. Though from the looks of it, it could very well please more audiences and have less detractors than Batman v Superman, most especially with Jared Leto's highly anticipated portrayal of the iconic Joker.

Comic-Con 2016 takes place from July 21 — July 24 with preview night on July 20.

Meanwhile, Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5.
