Watch SNL's Hilarious Star Wars: The Force Awakens Audition Sketch

Saturday Night Live is known for putting out entertaining pop culture sketches and parodies, and some of the best ones are the fake screen tests they produce. SNL just released a Star Wars: The Force Awakens audition video that reimagines the casting screen tests with Shaq (played by Jay Pharoah) trying out for Chewbacca, Bobby Moynihan playing a George Lucas that tries to use Jedi mind tricks, and more hilarious combinations of actors and characters.

This video is amazing on many levels, because not only does it feature David Beckham (played by Taran Killam) trying out for BB-8, it also includes a couple of actual Force Awakens actors (Daisey Ridley and John Boyega). And as if that wasn't awesome enough, actors Jon Hamm and Emma Stone got in on the fun, attempting to score roles in the huge movie. I'm just not sure how J.J. Abrams could pass up the chance to cast “Hamm Solo” in The Force Awakens.

Even though this sketch was just for laughs, it got me even more excited to see The Force Awakens when it releases next month. It was nice to see Daisey Ridley and John Boyega in the mix, poking fun at the screen testing process along with the Saturday Night Live cast. Check out the hilarious video below, and experience the “what if?” audition scenarios that only SNL could dream up.
