Finding Nemo broke ground when it first came out in 2003. Enough years later for fans to believe the project would never come to fruition, Finding Nemo was joined by a sequel, Finding Dory in 2016. The franchise is still well-loved, and many consider the first movie one of Pixar's best. So, will there be another Finding Nemo film?
At the time of writing, little is officially known about a potential third addition to the aquatic world we know and love. Both Finding Nemo and Finding Dory were excellent movies, but, inevitably, the first film beats the sequel in terms of originality and critical acclaim. The idea of a fish father crossing the ocean to find his only surviving son moved the audience, and, quite frankly, it cannot be done twice.
Finding Dory was fun in its own right, very humorous, and more fast-paced than the 2003 original. While it was received favorably and got good ratings, it's rare for a Pixar sequel to do significantly better than the original, and this is no exception.
If a Finding Nemo 3 was to be made, it would have to significantly expand what we already know and take us to places we haven't seen before and couldn't have predicted. Nor does it help that Pixar's newest shorts, titled Dory Finding send a controversial message by having Dory having fun with the rubbish she encounters in the ocean, essentially romanticizing them. The full-length movies have strong environmental messages and a potential third sequel should be careful to keep it up, particularly in the current climate.

Of course, Finding Dory did open up possibilities for a potential new addition in the franchise, as it proved the interest in it didn't die out, not even 13 years later, plus it introduced several new characters. If a sequel was to happen, however, we would assume that creators would once again take their time. After all, that's exactly what they did with Finding Dory; waiting for the right time and letting things rest seems to be the correct thing to do, to ensure that a sequel is organic, rather than forced – as are many sequels.
While googling, you may encounter a potential third movie, called Finding Marvin but since most of the information about it can be found in Pixarfanon, a site anyone can edit, we would wait to hear from the studio and the team before confirming this as true. Many fans believe that if someone was to be lost and found in the third movie, that could be Marvin. That's a valid point, but, once again, it is best to wait for a definitive update before reaching any conclusion.
