Disney+ has been screening the seventh season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars the past few weeks, and in the next few days, the critically-acclaimed Star Wars animated series is going to come to an end.
There’s been a lot of excitement building up over The Clone Wars series finale. Not only is the series going to closely explore how Order 66 is going to take place, The Clone Wars will also close a chapter in Ahsoka’s life.
Speaking in an interview with Entertainment Weekly to talk about the last few episodes of The Clone Wars, series showrunner Dave Filoni opens up about some of the most important questions he thinks that the finale ought to address when it airs next week.
According to the Star Wars producer, the most important stories are that of the characters around Anakin Skywalker like Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex.
“I was trying to get at answering what Ahsoka's story was about, what Rex's story was about, giving those a shape,” the director told the entertainment news outlet, “George covered Anakin's story in the film, so I've tried to always work in support of that, but then also give a point of view on it that comes from these other characters that know him, or other characters that are around him, while not changing the nature of what George's messaging for Star Wars was in Anakin's path.”
According to Filoni, he had to be careful about the time and space that he was telling The Clone Wars story seeing how it’s so close to the Revenge of the Sith.
Recently there have been rumors going around saying that Darth Vader may very well appear in the finale of the series, however, that’s something that’s yet to be seen. Let’s see whether how close The Clone Wars gets to Star Wars: Episode III.
The series finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars is set to premiere on May 4, 2020.
