Marvel President Kevin Feige Discusses The Deadpool Spider-Man Rumor

Marvel has had an arsenal of mutant characters available at its disposal ever since Disney completed its acquisition of 20th Century Fox and the studio's film and television assets earlier this year. However, Marvel is in no rush to bring the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe just yet. As it turns out, the studio isn't even ready to bring Deadpool into the franchise just yet.

There have been rumors going around saying that Ryan Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth would be introduced in the next Spider-Man movie after Far From Home. There have also been rumors saying that Deadpool might appear in a new Marvel series for Disney's upcoming streaming site, Disney+.

Speaking in an interview with ComicBook.com, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige addressed these rumors. As it turns out, Deadpool won't be appearing in Spider-Man 3 after all.

"No I mean we're certainly having conversations about the future of all of those Fox properties,' Feige said. "How to weave them in and when to weave them in. That one, in particular, is not the case."

Guess Marvel has other plans for the Merc with a Mouth. Maybe he's getting his own separate movie. Or maybe he's going to appear in a future Avengers movie. Hopefully we'll get news regarding the arrival of the mutants soon. Marvel is returning to the San Diego Comic-Con International, so we'll probably get news about the mutants there. Or maybe at D23. Though it's very likely that Marvel is going to focus on Phase 4 announcements first.

Marvel's latest release, Avengers: Endgame, is currently screening in cinemas.
