Deadpool Star Ryan Reynolds Believes in 'Infinite Possibilities' with Marvel

Disney may have yet to announce its plans for the Deadpool film franchise now that the Mickey Mouse House has acquired the film and television assets of 21st Century Fox, however, the Merc with a Mouth himself is keeping positive, believing that there are so many different possibilities for the character.

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds just recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, and the interview made its way to updates on Deadpool 3. While Disney has promised that it would keep the Deadpool franchise as is, there hasn't been any word on when the House of Mouse might begin working on the third Deadpool movie.

Though he isn't sure what direction Marvel might want to take the Merc with a Mouth now that Disney has the rights to the character, he seems to believe in all of the "infinite possibilities" for Deadpool.

"Deadpool was Fox and now it's in the hands of Marvel over there at Disney," Reynolds told Fallon, "I see infinite possibility in either version. If Deadpool were to be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I think it would be explosive and amazing. What a sandbox to play in. If Deadpool continued to get to just do his own thing and be his own thing, also just infinite possibilities."

We're glad that Reynolds is still looking forward to having Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe though it's probably going to take a lot of time before the Merc with a Mouth finds himself on the big screen again. Not only does Marvel have to find a way to incorporate Deadpool's story in the narrative arc of the MCU, but there's also the fact that Phase 4 has been delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Marvel's next film, Black Widow, is set to premiere on November 6, 2020.
