Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Opening Details Possibly Leaked

In the last few months, there has been a lot of discussion on whether or not Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will have an opening crawl, but Michael Giacchino's recent comments confirmed that there won't be one. So how will Rogue One open? Some details from Making Star Wars about the film's opening sequence may shed some light. They're usually accurate about these kind of things, but take it as a rumor for now.

Warning: Spoiler alert!!!

The site reports that the opening has some spiritual similarities to Guardians of the Galaxy.

Up front is the "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away" is still there. The movie will then cut to space and the film gets rolling. The opening crawl will not be there as we've been hearing for the last year and recently, basically confirmed in the Entertainment Weekly piece.
The movie does have a ROGUE ONE title card. Basically we see the bald headed Saw Gerrera open a hatch and save young Jyn after the horrible events that change her life forever and then we see the Rogue One logo emblazoned on the screen.

It seems like

Rogue One

will open on the flashbacks featuring Orson Krennic and Galen Erso on the green planet, followed by a title card. I have no problem seeing a

Star Wars

film without an opening crawl, but based on these details, it seems that the opening will still bring a strong sense of nostalgia.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

will hit theaters on December 16, 2016. Check out the

new batch of

Rogue One

stills here.
