Osamake: Romcom Where the Childhood Friend Won’t Lose or OsaMake, is a popular light novel series that was serialized in 2019. The romantic comedy series was written by Shuichi Nimaru and was illustrated by Ui Shigure.
The popularity of the light novel paved way for a manga adaptation to be released in 2019, and eventually, an anime series premiered in 2021. The series follows a seventeen-year-old high school boy named Sueharu Maru. One day, he received a confession from his childhood friend, Kuroha Shida but he rejected her because he is in love with Shirokusa Kachi, a popular author in school.
Who will Sueharu end up with? His childhood friend or his first love?
Unfortunately, the manga, light novel, and anime are all ongoing, so we still don’t know who Sueharu will end up with. The latest release of the light novel, which was volume 6, was on February 22, 2021, that contains regular and special editions.
Meanwhile, the manga currently has 2 tankobon volumes so far with volume 2 just released on February 22, 2021. Just like the light novel, the recent release as of this writing has regular and special editions.
For the anime adaptation, Osamake made its premiere on April 14, 2021. Fans can easily watch it on Crunchyroll. The streaming site simulcasts the show on Wednesdays at 6:00 AM PST.
Aside from what was mentioned above, Osamake gets interesting after Sueharu discovered Kachi has a boyfriend. Kuroha knew about how devastated Sueharu was, so she helped him get revenge on Kachi.
All along Sueharu thought he has a chance on Kachi as she was kind to him. But after finding out the truth, he lost his confidence to confess. Kuroha takes the situation to her advantage to win Sueharu.
