Star Wars: The Bad Batch has finally premiered and it follows Clone Force 99 on an exciting new adventure. However, it does revisit one of the darkest times in the Star Wars Universe. Sadly, we're brought back to the Great Jedi Purge and Star Wars fans can't stop crying about having to go through Order 66 all over again.

WATCH OUT! SPOILERS from Star Wars: The Bad Batch Episode 1 AHEAD

The Bad Batch Episode 1 opens with a huge battle between the Jedi and the Separatist group. It is then revealed that Clone Force 99 has been sent to serve as support for the Jedi. Interestingly, we learn that Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker and Crosshair are actually there to help Jedi Master Depa Billaba and her Padawan Caleb Dume (aka the future Kana Jarrus).

Naturally, it doesn't take long before Palpatine executes Order 66 and the Clone Troopers turn on Depa and Caleb. Depa chooses to fight their companions and orders Caleb to run, thus sacrificing herself to save the Padawan.

It's a heartbreaking reveal of what the Bad Batch were up to during Order 66 and an interesting retcon on Kanan's story. Needless to say, Star Wars fans can't help but feel emotional about having to go through the event all over again.

Although we're heartbroken about having to see Jedi being slaughtered again, revisiting Order 66 is essential when telling the story of Clone Troopers. After all, these elite soldiers were loyal to the Republic up until Palpatine turned the tables on the Jedi. For now, we're hoping that we don't have to see more of the event in the next few episodes.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Episode 1 is titled Aftermath. The premiere episode is now available on Disney+.
