Loki Showrunner Teases Possible Return in Season 2

We already know that Loki Season 2 is happening without director Kate Herron. But is there a chance that showrunner Michael Waldron will stay with the Marvel Cinematic Universe series? The head writer has just teased that it's possible that he will stay with the Disney+ show.

Herron had previously confirmed that she will not be returning for Loki Season 2. Soon after the director's confirmation, Waldron posted a cryptic tweet that seemed to suggest he will not be back as well.

So will Loki Season 2 get an entirely new team? Waldron has finally addressed his possible return in the second season. While being a guest on the Geek VibesPodcast, the screenwriter stated that "time will tell" considering that he has a busy schedule.

Waldron's schedule is certainly a hectic one. He had also worked on the screenplay for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In addition to that, Waldron has been confirmed to pen the script for Kevin Feige's untitled Star Wars project. Perhaps there is a possibility that he will eventually get to work on Loki Season 2 when the other projects are done.

Although we are still unsure whether Waldron will be back to the second season, there is little doubt that Tom Hiddleston is set to return in Loki Season 2. In addition to that, we could see Sophia Di Martino once again as Sylvie.

All episodes of Loki Season 1 are now streaming on Disney+. Although Loki Season 2 has already been confirmed, it has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
