Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 1 Reveals The Story Behind Rengoku's Bento Boxes

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 is finally here and it premiered with an awesome episode that was all about Kyojuro Rengoku. Interestingly, it also offered a cool backstory revealing how the Flame Hashira ended up with so many bento boxes when we see him in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie - Mugen Train.

In Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 1, we get to see what Rengoku was doing before Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke caught up with him in Mugen Train. Interestingly, it reveals that the Flame Hashira was already gearing up to investigate the train but realized there was another threat around the train station.

Another demon, an exceptionally fast one, is terrorizing the ekiben vendors and Rengoku immediately steps in to help them. One bento box seller and her grandmother are threatened and the Flame Hashira is quick to dispatch of the demon, telling him he is too slow. As it turns out, Rengoku's father had previously helped the old woman and she recalls the older Kyojuro's moves as she watches Rengoku in action.

Of course, all that action left Rengoku hungry and luckily, he had purchased all of the vendor's bento boxes and brought them with him on the train. That's after he promises the grandmother that he'll tell his father about her.

Knowing what we already know after watching Mugen Train, it's clear that Rengoku will not be telling his father about the ekiben vendors. In the meantime, he has a mission and that includes consuming all those yummy bento boxes.
