The long wait is finally over. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 is finally out and the show made an epic return with a special episode focusing on Rengoku Kyojuro. Not surprisingly, fans are loving the premiere and everyone is raving about the Flame Hashira all over again.
The first episode of Demon Slayer Season 2 is aptly titled Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku. The episode takes place between the Season 1 finale and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie - Mugen Train, revealing what Rengoku was doing before he boarded the train in the film.
So what was Rengoku up to? As a Hashira, he decided to investigate the train that has turned into a demon's hunting ground. However, the train itself isn't the only thing that is infested by demons.
One of the best scenes in the episode reveals a demon coming after the ekiben sellers and Rengoku immediately comes to their aid. By saving an elderly bento box seller, the Flame Hashira brings up her memories of Rengoku's father saving her in the past.
It's a gorgeous scene and fans were loving how Rengoku once again saved the day.
Interestingly, Demon Slayer fans are not the only ones who are loving Rengoku. The episode also revealed what his fellow Hashiras truly feel about him.
We're loving how we got to see more of Rengoku in Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 1. Luckily, we'll get to see him in action in the next six episodes of the second season, which will adapt the manga's Mugen Train arc.
The next episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 will air on October 17, 2021.
