The good news is, Castlevania Season 4 finally has a release date. The bad news? It's going to be the final season for the anime series as Netflix plans to create a new show based in the same universe.

Deadline confirms that Castlevania Season 4 will air on Netflix this May. However, the report also revealed that the fourth season is set to be the final one for the anime and is expected to provide a proper conclusion to Alucard's story.

Interestingly, the official NX on the Netflix Twitter account confirmed the news with a brief teaser for Castlevania Season 4. Check it out below.

The idea of Castlevania coming to an end isn't easy considering that it was Netflix's first original anime series that immediately had fans wanting more. The show follows Trevor, the last living member of the Belmont clan who takes up the old family business of monster hunting. However, the anime also puts the focus on Alucard, the son of Dracula who only wishes to protect humanity from his blood-thirsty father.

Although Castlevania Season 4 is the final season, Netflix reportedly has other plans for the franchise. Deadline's report also added that the streaming service "is eyeing a new series set in the same Castlevania universe with an entirely new cast of characters." Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Castlevania is based on the Konami video game of the same name and the anime features characters and key elements from the title Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. The show features the voices of Richard Armitage, James Callis, Graham McTavish, and Emily Swallow.

Are you ready to find out what happens to Alucard? Castlevania Season 4 will premiere on Netflix on May 13, 2021.
