The Eternals Reportedly Recruiting Captain Marvel Star for Completely Different Character Role

It seems like Marvel is hoping that The Eternals will be their next big movie, featuring a wide array of actors and some of the most unique characters ever crafted. However, in a move that a lot of people didn't see coming, it looks like the company is actually hoping to recast an actor they used before. This happened once before with Mahershala Ali and it could be happening again with Captain Marvel star Gemma Chan.

According to Variety, Chan is being recruited to play a new character who is not Minn-Erva. That makes sense since the Captain Marvel villain is a Kree warrior and not an Eternal. It's not yet known who Marvel want Chan to portray but there are a number of Eternals to choose from and it's going to be really fun to see if the actress says yes.

Chan possibly playing a new role after already being Minn-Erva is unique but isn't a first for Marvel. We already mentioned how Mahershala Ali, who was Cottonmouth in Luke Cage, will soon be Blade in the upcoming reboot. Hopefully, Chan will also get a bigger role in The Eternals since she didn't really do much in Captain Marvel.

The Eternals will be coming to theaters on November 6, 2020. You can catch Chan as Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel, which is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital stores.
