Ethan Hawke Really Wants a Star Wars Role, is Willing to be a Wookie

If the previous Star Wars movie are proof of anything, it's that pretty much every celebrity we know loves the franchise. Everyone from Daniel Craig to Simon Pegg and even Prince Harry love this enormous universe George Lucas has created, so it's no surprise that Disney are willing to fulfill their needs for some fun easter eggs.

With those celebrities in mind, it's no surprise that Ethan Hawke would want to be in a Star Wars movie. During an appearance in the Conan O'Brien show, Hawke revealed that he would like to be appear in the franchise. He doesn't even want to be a major character and has offered to be a Wookie, of all things.

Granted, he also expressed interest in playing a potential villain or new Jedi for the series but it seems like Hawke has a realistic role in mind for himself. The new Star Wars films chose to get smaller actors and make them bigger so expect this strategy to be used for the next trilogy from Last Jedi director Rian Johnson.

Plus, having celebrities in minor roles like these always pleases fans, so expect this to become a tradition for the series. Whether that's a good thing or not remains to be seen, but it does make fans pay more attention to these films. Hawke is a pretty good actor, but he's also a big name so he can't have a big role, unless Disney changes their mind.

Star Wars Episode IX is debuting next December, so there's actually a lot of time for Disney and Lucasfilm to fit Hawke in a minor role. Whether it be Stormtrooper, Wookie, or anything else, the role would seemingly please Hawke if his comments here are anything to go by.

Fans will be able to see Star Wars Episode IX on December 20, 2019.
