Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King Brings Classic 16-Bit Gaming to Modern Systems

After the success of the live-action versions of Aladdin and The Lion King, it seems like Disney wants to make more nostalgia money; this time through video games. Announced during the GME Conference, Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King will be remasterd versions of fan-favorite 16-bit games that a lot of ‘90s kids enjoyed and will be coming out this Fall.

The Lion King will have its Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Game Boy and Super Game Boy versions, while Aladdin will only have the Genesis, Game Boy, and Super Game Boy versions. Fans are a bit bummed about this since Aladdin had a very good SNES game but that was made by Capcom. Still, it's really cool to have multiple versions of these games and should make the overall package worthwhile.

Prettier versions of these games aside, we will also be getting a Watch Mode, which has players skip to any part of the game they are having problems with. There is also a museum with an extensive amount of extras, which should be a must-have feature for Disney enthusiasts. In addition to this, the 1993 trade show demo of Aladdin will be playable for the first time ever.

Frankly, this is a really cool announcement and we can only hope for more from the company. Fans are hoping that Ducktales: Remastered also gets a re-release since that featured HD visuals and voice acting and was recently delisted from PS3, Xbox 360, and Steam. We already have the Disney Afternoon Collection, a collection of NES and SNES Disney games, so here's hoping for more.

Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King will be coming out on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch this Fall.
