DC is Bringing Back Static Shock and More as Part of Milestone Comics Revival in February

It's been a long time since we've seen Static Shock, Icon, and the other superheroes of Milestone Comics. DC has been publishing the property's comics for a long time now but some disputes prevented them from making new stories. Eventually, things were sorted out and we were promised a Milestone Media relaunch but very few details were given. Thankfully, during DC Fandome, we finally got a proper launch window for the return of Milestone Comics; February 2021.

Fans of Static will be happy to know that the character is getting two series' next year; a digital-first Static Shock series that will get print copies after and an original Static Shock graphic novel from Reggie Hudlin (Black Panther, Deadshot) and Kyle Baker (Plastic Man, Deadpool MAX). This won't just be a Static Shock publishing line as a team-up comic called Icon/Rocket will also be coming by Hudlin and Denys Cowan.

Newsarama has also revealed that there will be a 17-page sampler called Milestone Returns #0, which will reintroduce these iconic characters to those who have forgotten or never met them. As someone who used to watch the fairly fun Static Shock animated series, the news fills me with joy and I hope we get a number of quality comics from this line.

Milestone Returns #0 will be written by Reggie Hudlin and Greg Pak, with art by Denys Cowan, Jim Lee, Ryan Benjamin, Khoi Pham, Scott Hanna, Bill Sienkiewicz, Don Ho, Alex Sinclair, and Deron Bennett. We can't wait.
