Nathan Fillion's Character in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Revealed


Nathan Fillion is going to make another Marvel cameo again in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. New set photos reveal who the Firefly and Castle star may be playing in the film —and it has a major reference to the comics. Spoilers ahead!

Fillion made an uncredited guest appearance in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film as the blue inmate who roughs up Peter Quill on the Kylin, but his cameo in the sequel, however, is more recognizable. Comicbook revealed set photos showing an Earth-based street theater, with a series of movie posters outside depicting Fillion's character in various film roles. Check out the photos:

Fillion is playing an actor known as Simon Williams,, better known by his superheroic alter-ego, Wonder Man, and the theater is advertising a film festival celebrating his work.

In the comic, Wonder Man was a former villain who changed to leave his criminal past. He also joined the Avengers. He has the power of superhuman strength, speed, and durability, At one point, he retired from being a superhero to become an actor.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to release in theaters on May 5, 2017.
